Swatch Pattern


Cast on 31 st using your favorite cast on method.

Knit four rows (garter stitch edge).

Row 1 (RS): K3, [p1, slwyib, k2, pass the slipped st over the 2 st] repeat between brackets to last 4 st, p1, k3

Row 2 (WS): K3, [k1, p1, yo, p1] repeat between brackets to last 4 st, k4

Row 3 (RS): K3, [p1, k3] repeat between brackets to last 4 st, p1, k3

Row 4 (WS): K3, [k1, p3] repeat between brackets to last 4 st, k4

Row 5 (RS): K3, [p1, k3] repeat between brackets to last 4 st, p1, k3

Row 6 (WS): K3, [k1, p3] repeat between brackets to last 4 st, k4 

Repeat rows 1 – 6 until swatch measures 4.5 in/11.25 cm. (For best results, finish the last repeat after row 2.) 

Knit four rows (garter stitch edge).

Bind off on the next row in knit.  

Wet block your swatch and pin flat until dry.

inc - increase

k – Knit

k2tog – Knit two stitches together (decrease 1)

p - Purl

RS - Right side

slwyib - slip the stitch (without working it) with yarn held in back

st - Stitch/stitches

WS - Wrong side

yo – Yarn over (increase 1 st)
