Cast on 32 st using your favorite cast-on method.
Knit four rows (garter stitch edge).
Row 1 (RS): [K2tog, yo (twice), ssk] rep bet brackets to end
Row 2 (WS): [P1, k1-p1 into the double yo from the previous round, p1] rep bet brackets to end of row
Row 3 (RS): K
Row 4 (WS): P
Row 5 (RS): [Yo, ssk, k2tog, yo] rep between brackets to end
Row 6 (WS): P1, [p2, k1-p1 into the double yo from the previous row] rep bet brackets to last st, p1
Row 7 (RS): K
Row 8 (WS): P
Rep rows 1 – 8 until until swatch measures 4.5 in/11.25 cm.
Knit four rows.
Bind off on next row in knit.
Wet block your swatch and pin flat until dry.
